إن سفري إلى عوالم متباينة هو مسار حياة خطته لي يد الأقدار، فقد أخذني القدر في بداية مرحلة الصبا في رحلة مع جنون الحرب اللبنانية، فخبرت وحشيتها وفهمت أن الحقد واليأس وتغليب المصالح والتخلي عن القيم، يأخذان الإنسان بعيدا عن إنسانيته وعن المنطق الذي يوفره له عقله، وعندئذ يتحول إلى ماكينة للقتل والدمار أين منها وحشية الحيوان الذي تحركه غريزته، فإذا به أرحم بفريسته من الإنسان.

Spirituality Rekindled explores the attainment of serenity and self-fulfillment through a rational spirituality, which author Nassir H. Sabah posits is a quality of being predicated on a sense of connection to The Almighty. Incontrovertible, science-based, and objective evidence for the existence of The Almighty is derived from the Quran, which for non-Muslims is to be regarded as a stand-alone text that should be judged on its own merits, without prejudice or bias. Based on this, and on cognizance of the limitations of present-day science, Dr. Sabah makes the case for a spirituality that provides the foundation for a continual, immensely beneficial, and comprehensive self-development - spiritually, psychologically, morally, and intellectually.

The approach is essentially that of an engineering textbook, emphasizing the quantitative aspects and highlighting the fundamentals and basic concepts involved. The coverage progresses in a logical and systematic manner from the subcellular, starting with the electrophysiology of the cell membrane, then proceeding to synapses, neurons, and muscle, before considering neuronal motor ensembles and the neuromuscular system as a whole.
