This guide provides basic information on using EndNote Desktop (citation management tool)
Synchronize your Library

You can synchronize your EndNote library in both directions:

  1. From EndNote Desktop ► EndNote Online
  2. From EndNote Online ► EndNote Desktop

Sync your Desktop Library with EndNote Online

Please note that ONLY ONE Library can be synced with EndNote Online. 

Before your start synchronizing your library, you need to

  • Back-up your Desktop Library
  • Have an EndNote Online account. If not, click here to register and create an account.

To Sync your EndNote Library

  • Open your EndNote desktop 

            

  • From the Edit menu, select Preferences
     
  • Select Sync ►Enable Sync
  • Enter the email address and the password of your EndNote Online account

      
     
  • Click OK and Save 
  

Recommendations and Notes

You may get this message ​​"You are about to sync or share a library that is different than the last library you synced. This will merge libraries. Do you wish to proceed?" This means that EndNote Desktop and EndNote Online will not sync correctly and you need to rest the Sync.
