This guide provides basic information on using EndNote Desktop (citation management tool)
Export from Google Scholar

You can directly export from Google Scholar but you first need to change your Google Scholar Settings:

  • Go to Google Scholar
  • Go to the menu at the top left hand side of the screen (3 horizontal lines)
  • Click on Setting and scroll down to Bibliography Manager
  • Check Show links to import citations into and choose EndNote from the drop down menu
  • Click on the Save button

N. B. Each record should now include an Import into EndNote link.
         Direct export from Google Scholar is limited to the citation only. 

Follow these steps to export:

Google Scholar Search

To Export an individual record 

  1. Conduct a search in Google Scholar
  2. Click on the Import into EndNote link underneath the record you want to export 
  3. If asked to choose between Open or Save, choose to Open the file

To Export multiple records you must have a Google account. Click here to create your account.

  • Conduct a search in Google Scholar
  • Click the star icon or Save under the record you want to export. You will be prompted to log in to your My Library account if you haven’t done so already. 
  • In the Saved to My Library box, select a folder e.g. EndNote, click on Done 
  • Go to the menu at the top left hand side of the screen (3 horizontal lines)

 

  • Click on My Library to view selected records
  • Go to Export all on the top of selected records and choose EndNote from the dropdown menu
