E-Learning Tools Trove

Discussions are effective tools that activate prior knowledge before the start of the sessions, test and reflect on the acquired knowledge during and after the session. You can use one of the following tools:

  • Moodle – Use Moodle’s built in Forum Activity.
  • Breakout rooms – Allow students to breakout into different rooms for live discussions using Zoom, WebEx and MS TEAMs.
     

Free Resources

  • Padlet – Community-centered whiteboard tool. Simple and can be used without tech support.
  • Flipgrid – Pose questions, spark thoughtful video responses, create online discussion. 
  • VoiceThread – Create and share conversations on documents, diagrams, videos, pictures, or almost anything. This facilitates collaborative student discussion and work.
  • Kialo-edu – Organize online discussions, debates, share knowledge. 
  • Remind – Teachers can securely message students and their parents with important updates. Free with paid services.
  • Google Docs – Teachers can ask a question on a google document, share it with the students. They can reply individually and their responses will be saved.
