A guide on how to use the Online Library Catalog to find books, theses, course reserves and other library materials, and on how to create an account allowing you to put items on hold, renew items online, and save searches.

Put Items on Hold


You may place a hold request on an item if the item is checked out or on Loan

 

  How to put one item on hold?

 

  • Search the Library Catalog for the item you want 
  • Click on the title to view the full record of the item    
  •  Click on the button at the top of the screen
  • Login to My Account
  • The request form appears
  • To put the item on hold click on Submit

 How to put more than one
 item 
on hold?

 

  • Search the Library Catalog 
  • Select one or more items then click on Save Marked Records 
  • Go to the View Saved button on the top of the screen
  • Click on  to view and request your items 
  • Login to My Account 
  • The request form appears
  • Select a Pick-up Location e.g. Jafet Library
  • Provide an expiration date (optional)
  • Click on
  • A confirmation message will display

N.B. The expiration date give you the option to cancel your request
if it is not filled within a specific date
 

 

 How to cancel a request?

 

  • Login to My Account
  • Requested titles will be displayed
  • Select one or more titles
  • Click on Cancel Marked 

N.B. if you want to cancel all your requests, click on  Cancel All
