Library Internship Program

This guide introduces the internship program in the University Libraries

The library internship is meant to provide student interns with an introduction to academic libraries operations and functions. Interns in this position will be introduced to the library work processes and will spend most of their internship in one of the library departments, learn about their various duties, and take on special projects in those departments. Potential departments include Archives and Special Collections, Reference and Instruction, Digital Scholarship, Library Systems and Technical Services. Intersections in library administration, digital collections and preservation are also areas of learning and are usually embedded throughout the internship.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Applications to the University Libraries Internship Program are announced on regular basis. Applicants are requested to fill a FORM ; short-listed candidates are called in for an interview for the final selection. 

ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS  

The Program is open to all AUB active students. Good working knowledge of both written English and Arabic is required.

DURATION

Internships last for a semester, 10-15 hours per week, flexible hours. The Department reserves the right to terminate an internship as result of poor performance, absence or other issues related to work.

SUPPORT AND BENEFITS

 Certificate of completion: The University Libraries will provide interns with a certificate by the end of the internship.
