FINANCE 210: Stock Data

This guide is a tool for students taking the FINA210 course at OSB. It helps them find resources and retrieve data to complete the required course assignment(s).

Company Share Price from Yahoo Finance

  1. Go to Yahoo Finance
  2. Type in the name of the company in the “Quote Lookup” search box, then click on the search button.
  3. Click on Historical Prices, enter the date range and choose "Daily"
  4.  Click on “Get Prices”
  5. Scroll all the way down and click on "Download to Spreadsheet"; for easier retrieval of "Adj Close*"

Please note that the stock price should include end of financial year prices for the company. (You can find those dates when retrieving the complete financial statement in Compustat or via the company website). You will be looking for the end of year "Adj Close price".
