Data services provided by AUB Libraries.

The DMP Tool

The DMP Tool is an online simple platform created to help researchers meet the data management planning requirements for different grant proposals. It includes templates for many of the large funding agencies, general guidance, links to helpful documentation, specific questions to think about when write a DMP.

The DMP tool allows you to write the plan collaboratively with your research team, it also enables you to send your plan to a data specialist to review it for you before submitting it to the funding agency. You can save and come back to your plan as often as you like.

To start building your data management plan:

1- go to the DMP tool website: https://dmptool.org/

2- sign in on the top right hand of the screen using the first option since AUB is affiliated with DMP tool.

3- chose American University of Beirut and log in using your AUB NetId and password.

4- create a plan.

Note that when your funding agency is from the proposed list, DMP tool will provide you with the specific template required by the specified funding agency.  If your funder is not in the list or you are not applying for a grant, check the box for “No funder associated with this plan;” this selection will provide you with a generic template.

5- share your plan by clicking on the "share" tab:

  •          Set the visibility of the plan: private, organizational or public.
  •          Invite collaborators to be: co-owners, editors, or only readers of your plan. This is done by adding their emails and choosing the permissions.
  •          Request expert feedback will give us the permission to read and comment on your plan.
