Copyright Reform
Several countries at the WIPO - Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR), are trying to push forward the discussions towards a legally-binding instrument in the field of educational exceptions. IFLA, EIFL and LCA are working with WIPO Member States to gain support for a binding international instrument on copyright limitations and exceptions to enable libraries to preserve their collections, support education and research, and lend materials.
EIFL program: Copyright and Libraries Program advocates for national and international copyright law reform, and supports librarians to become advocates for a fair copyright system.
IFLA Copyright and other Legal Matters (CLM) Advisory Committee
CLM strongly advocates at the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), Geneva, for a minimum international standard of exceptions and limitations to copyright, alongside partner organisations. (LCA) consists of three major library associations — the American Library Association, the Association of Research Libraries, and the Association of College and Research Libraries.
